    As the ruble continues to fall on the back of oil price woe, Russian officials appear to be clutching at straws. The official line is that oil will bounce back within six months, thus saving everyone's bacon. But such an approach may prove unrealistic, endangering both Russian oil production and the country's battered currency.

    Private employment jumped 281,000 in June, says ADP:

    ... The private sector saw an increase in payrolls of 281,000 in June following a gain of 179,000 in May, according to payroll-processing company Automatic Data Processing (ADP). Consensus had expected an increase of 205,000.

    Small companies added 117,000 on net in June, of which 66,000 were added among companies with 1 to 19 employees. Medium-sized companies added 115,000 while large companies added 49,000.

    Note that the US employment report will be released tomorrow, July 3, at 12:30 GMT due to Friday being Independence Day.

    ADP jobs report is labeled as a data with LOW impact in the "Financial Calendar". This is not correct, I think.
