Can the Fed surprise as much as the ECB?

Can the Fed surprise as much as the ECB?
Since the release of the second weak employment report in a row in early October, the market has adjusted its expectations for Fed rate hikes to new lows for the cycle, such that the first Fed rate increase is not fully priced in until late next summer.

Eurogroup talks on Greek debt turn into a game of leaks

    Blogger / MoreLiver's Daily
    Finland
Yet another meeting of the European leaders has failed to find a solution to Greece's ending bailout program. Dubbed the last chance, in reality they weren't that at all, and the true end game is just about to start. I expect a last-minute, face-saving compromise that pushes decisions about the really difficult questions as far off as June.

Economic plan will be a balancing act for Clinton if she runs again

    Managing Partner / Spotlight Group
    United Kingdom
Hillary Clinton is well in front of the potential Democratic field for 2016 and if she runs there are some key issues she needs to tackle that are concerning America. The US has the deepest level of income inequality since 1928 and hourly wage growth as a rolling 12-month average is below a five-year average. Clinton will want to tackle this issue, however, it is but a short step to openly attacking wealth creation.

FX Update: USD looking to rally again this week
The US dollar picture looks quite healthy, particularly given the market’s very complacent view on the US Federal Reserve’s policy stance. The latter leaves the market highly sensitive to US data surprises this week, particularly if they are positive. Also – the market is increasingly positioned for an Reserve Bank of Australia cut – will it deliver?
