    S&P 500 iron condor trade — #SaxoStrats

The S&P500 equity index has risen sharply this month and could be due for a short-term pullback or at least consolidation. Low levels of volatility on the index offers an opportunity for adopting an iron condor income strategy.

Year ahead looks promising for online broker TD Ameritrade

Product Manager Futures and Options / Saxo Bank

Shares in the online broker TD Ameritrade recently sold off following commission rate pressure from rival Charles Schwab. The broker's shares could present a good opportunity over the next several months. Fundamentals seem to be improving following the US election, and on the back of rising interest rates. The financials have been leading the bull market higher.

Will buying CFD work exactly the same as Shares?

Hi JR, unfortunately you cannot write a covered call against CFD position. We are buying the underlying shares and selling Call for premium, hence covered call.

Chris, I got your email but away for a few days. Certainly look at options on indices as means to get some protection against possible market correction/ if you are bullish ST, uncertain intermediate there's a few things you could do- a flexible collar, up 3% down 5% on SPX sell calls and use the proceeds to buy 5% OTM puts. A long put calendar could also work well for very little cost, buy April 2250/sell March 2250 cost of 3 per contract. Ill get back to you Monday w/ more detail. Thx

Check out tomorrows recording with Russell Rhoads and using SPX options

the calendar should use the standard options 17 March 17 vs 21 April 17- the cost is on that one is about $10 per contract

    Hi Georgio,

I use a Saxo trade platform through a Portuguese investment bank.
I have some questions regarding Combination Orders in Options, all related with the duration of the order:
    1) Is there a reason why it is only possible to do trade just for the day (why not GTC if we feel like it)
    2) Is it possible that, because the order is canceled just after the closing of the market and if we give again the same order next open day, that we could be hurt without getting the full legs filled as opposed to other trades who are able to give a GTC order, for instance?
    3) I see sometimes some comments on other traders using other platforms that one of their legs are filled but waiting to the other to get filled (I suppose that only when the two legs are fulfilled the order is completely executed). If this is true, can this happen also in SAXO platform and if yes, if the day ends what happens with the combination orders? Are they also cancelled?

    Thank you.
