    Short-term recommendation: Short USD, long
    TRY
    12 October 2017

After the recent weakness of the Turkish lira, we see some recovery potential as
headwinds should fade. We recommend opening a short US dollar (USD), long
Turkish lira (TRY) position at 3.66 with a target of 3.50 and a stop-loss at 3.76.
This short-term trade idea has an investment horizon of one to two months.
In the last month, the Turkish lira depreciated by more than 6% against
the US dollar. Higher interest rates in the US and broad dollar strength put
pressure on vulnerable emerging markets like Turkey. The country's persistent
current account deficit will keep the lira exposed to setbacks whenever global
conditions deteriorate. After the recent repricing of the near-term interest rate
outlook in the US, however, some stabilization looks likely.

UBS CIO on EURUSD 6-12 months Where could markets go?
A positive surprise by the ECB, i.e. defining the end of QE and even discussing
rate hikes, would have, in our view, the potential to lift EURUSD to equilibrium,
provided US policy-making stays unchanged. Our fair value for EURUSD
measured by PPP is at 1.27.
A positive surprise in the US budget process, combined with a hawkish response
of the Fed, would drive EURUSD down, provided the ECB stays with an
undefined end to QE. Presently, we would expect current support levels of 1.12
to be tested. Finally, a combination of positive surprises by US politics and the
ECB would cancel out forces of appreciation and depreciation. We would expect
EURUSD to stay in a broad 1.15–1.20 range.

FX Board: USD steadies after late drop Friday – #SaxoStrats
The US dollar shied away from its fresh highs after the US jobs report on Friday, but has entirely failed to follow through lower today – is this due to a US bank holiday and lack of interest or underlying strength? GBPUSD and NZDUSD capitulated last week, while AUDUSD and USDCHF are on the precipice.

Signs of fatigue could hit HK casinos in the short term – #SaxoStrats

Casino stocks have outperformed the market over the past 18 months with the Hong Kong listed shares doing very well and with Galaxy Entertainment up 160% since early 2016. But things are cooling and we are recommending selling Galaxy shares based on the stock being overvalued and a potential sentiment shift due to fewer visitors.
