Clive Lambert - FuturesTechs
Clive Lambert of FuturesTechs explains why he is trading USDCAD. he is looking to sell a rally to 1.3130, place a stop above 1.3170-75, and look for further weakness back to the 1.2969 low from late January. His timeframe is one week.

Lucky eh ? :-)
You (amongst others) have asked about potential drawdown and risk along with probability calculation measures so I have taken the liberty of writing this weeks article along those lines to show how to adapt and control these set ups on any liquid market place.

Over the last 4 trading weeks there have been 35 USDCAD trades seeking the +5 only which made +175pips (on some days two trades triggered) and one duff trade for a loss of 23pips which in truth looks like I got a bad fill trade. But who cares the net profit for just the Loon was +152pips for very little effort. Now all you have to consider is would you have earned Net per month +152pips per month and is this net better than your normal account growth.
As mentioned before I average +45pips per day on these trades on cable/eurusd/usdcad/remember there are two rolling strategies for euro and cable. Monthly +5 strategy then accrues +900pips per calendar month (average) in addition to the other strategies posted !

an entry long at 1,3097. Do you consider this entry as a scalp trade and if so what would be its length: 30 bips? Or would you consider this as a longer term trade for another Target profit and, in tis case, what would it be?

fxtime its a brilliant, it works and the although the profit is not great in pips per trade (i go for 7 pips) overall it works and what more can anyone ask for. I also can see no reason why it cant work on a lot of other currency pairs as long as the spread can be factored in. im doing a test this week on the usdjpy and i have to say thanks fxtime for sharing this!

Apologies as I have been away from my desk. The trade strategy each way is for a minimum +5pips. However the max stretch for these set ups is for +25pips so your take profit would have been around the 1.3120 region. Annoyingly I can't call up my charts but clearly from my account I can see the trade worked thankfully. The set up described is strictly an intraday trade strategy only.

Thx Marran...it does work on USDJPY but usually I stick to eurusd/gbpusd/usdcad but the caveat is that eurusd and cable have two trade set ups that work per day !

Actually looking through the articles there are too many to post as tehre are loads of live trade updates. It will probably be easier to just look through my history or click on Michael O'Neill stuff and you will see the same overviews.

As for longer term....the three day rolling trade strategy suggests that the Loon was a long at 1.30170 as RSI triggered and the trade range made a change in trend signal to the bullish side.
Chart attached which is an end of day chart and the detailed trade strategy is as attached;

Hi fxtime. I was reading your past articles. Can you send the link for the basic article to read ? Like, where to start reading to understand your type of trading.

Goodness where do I start ? Are you asking for the original link for the USDCAD strategy? As I have been posting weekly articles for various types of strategies for scalpers and position traders along with their live updates...so there is a huge spectrum of trades and results available to you.
Let me know what area specifically you want and I will point you in the right direction my friend. remember also that there option strategies by the options team also and a host of actual trade recommendations from others. All I am doing is showing the strategies which are designed to overlay each other to permit you to build a stronger trade scenario that meets your risk aversion.
Let me know which topic etc and I will get back to you :-)

Estuardorlemus....for this strategy the first description and breakdown of results and probability is the commentary of this article. ALL the others follow from this reference point.

That's very kind of you Mike; presume you've had a good day too ?.....FWIW it should be a good week for us all I reckon :-)
Has your tech issue been fully resolved ? As I am ready to throw my master computer out as win 10 upgrades are corrosive and aren't even optional updates :-(

Have a good evening mate...time for a wine for me :-)
