Update on earlier strategy ref USDCAD
Today is a relatively illiquid day so I do not expect an AB=CD trade as per usual.....there aren't enough players in the market to give it momentum obviously due to the USA markets being closed for July 4th celebrations.
Not a trade to make on days like this :-)
However the breakout strategy earlier was valid as there was some Canadian economic data releases to follow.

And whilst typing the above the USDCAD has completed the move grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr the joys of being a trader.
For all the good money management doctrines about liquidity the market does the very move expected of it and LOL I missed the trade :-)

Well done with your profit though :-)
Normally for national holiday periods I will only trade the break of the open range (globex) or price fixing period such as the above as there are other world markets that can have an influence.

Regardless of national holiday periods the data set for the ''ice cream'' scenario operates regardless as the back test function does not take into account of national holiday periods because there is (invariably) a globex market running.
