Saxo Wealth Management on TradingFloor.com

Who we are
Saxo Wealth Management is the asset management arm of the Saxo family, offering wealth management in liquid asset classes to high-net-worth individuals and institutional investors. Our products include asset allocation and risk management of balanced mandates, active absolute return-driven portfolio management in global fixed income, corporate bond and equity investments. Our team of seven portfolio managers has broad experience in the financial markets. We have beaten the market on most occasions via a rigorous and research-driven fundamental approach since our inception five years ago.

Today we launch a new initiative here on TradingFloor to share our insights into the global markets.

As we have a longer time horizon than many of the other authors on the site, we hope to be able to contribute with angles and investment ideas from a new perspective. Below is a short description of who we are and what we do, as well as the asset classes we cover:

What we do
Our mission is to create attractive returns, both on single assets classes as well as on balanced mandates. Our strategy is highly selective and not a benchmark-related picking of securities that is not overly diversified.

We do not focus on the generation of short-term returns. We invest with a one to two-year time horizon to justify attractive and above normal returns by making non-consensus calls in our portfolios to maintain and accumulate wealth for our clients. In the process, we do not  get stressed by short-term fluctuations in our portfolios.

Equities
Our equity approach is not limited by benchmarks or sector weight. We invest in all areas of the global stock market where we believe the risk/return relationship is skewed as well as in areas where the market undervalues a structural change on either a company or sectoral level.

Corporate bonds
We mainly invest in higher grade high-yield bonds or low grade investment grade bonds as we believe this to be an area of the market where low interest rate sensitivity and relatively high yields make an attractive combination. We dedicate a lot of time to making sure the securities in our portfolios are not subject to unexpected downsides in the form of default or call risk. Our approach has proven its worth as a great way to achieve attractive yields.

Fixed income
Our team in charge of fixed income has many years of experience in the market and we leverage this every day in order to get the best possible return for our clients. We have a niche product within the Danish mortgage market that offers an attractive yield pickup. We utilise the distortion that sometimes occurs in the market to generate excess returns when possible.
