Steen Jakobsen
The Bank of Japan has abandoned quantitative easing and the European Central Bank may taper its bond-buying programme, so what is the role of central banks in 2017, asks Saxo Bank’s chief economist Steen Jakobsen.

I am already short cable via defensive option play before the vote so luckilly ITM by a long way !! Presume it will drift down to Thursday for the BoE release then rally ? Risks for a strong bounce are building imho. Euro looks ready to break the 1.10100 floor at last so will track that down but currently flat on this pair. FTSE I opened a small scale short at the open as I always do when it gaps above the prior day trading be honest I am expecting a big move on the ftse but reckon we have to await the BoE.
SP500 looks more interesting to me though and I have started shorting that now at 2135 globex cash price as expecting a pull back that is faster than the others.
I did re-enter the $yen as mentioned before and amazingly ITM LOL
Your builders finished yet?

definitely re ftse
EURGBP may be a potentially big earner too and perhaps a safer play than direct play on cable as my algo scenario has stalled on that charting and suggests ROC greater there for a short and also implies the cable could well bounce!

FWIW as a precautionary measure and probably too early in the week for it to trigger I have preset a short order GTC at 0.8490 on eurgbp...lets see if it triggers this week LOL

LOL...cable bounced and all short trades now covered...yeah :-)
EURGBP has also triggered as a short.
Have (just) set a short order for the ftse cash at 6605 for max stake size short GTC. I certainly expect that order to be filled this week.
Cable I will stand aside from at the moment pending Thursdays BoE etc.
