LOL...pity the bookmakers punters and their consensus trade to the long side :-)
Hopefully most of the bookies clientele only made small stakes on this binary event.

No, just a huge misjudgement by the PM and his close associates. It just exemplified how out of tune some politicians are from the major populous! Now the EU is quaking in its boots that more don't follow this path...............contagion may well result!

Am sure most of the guys I used to work with would have voted 'in'............and would be surprised that I went the other way! At the end of the day, all the deprived areas voted Brexit with a large turnout, and that's where it was lost for DC. To them, economic arguments were much less important than the possible effects of too much immigration............and the Tory and Labour hierarchies totalled failed to grasp that. Not the reason I voted 'out' but the main reason nonetheless.

NeilD....you've certainly summed up the situation perfectly. I voted Remain but agree totally with your overview.

IMHO, Brexit or Not to Brexit would have had to be confronted sooner or later and laid to rest. For what it's worth I have great admiration for DC, a sensible and sensitive leader, all round he did the right thing! Did the rest of Britain? Time will tell.

Yeah you've been a bear throughout always saying the Leave campaign will succeed so bad luck with missing the move but at least you still have your account balance. I can imagine there will be traders somewhere nursing big drawdowns.
