The Moody's downgrade of Chinese debt saw iron ore futures crater as markets weighed the possibility of a deepening growth contraction. The move hit AUD, but not as hard as might be expected given USD's gathering bid.

Not yet, it almost broke through on the upper line, it actually did by 2.5 pips, I almost went for it, there is very little volume, so it may not make it, but I'll watch for another hour and see how it shapes up.

I have a 45 pip line from Friday. it's at 104.145 bid, so I am thinking about using that as my SL, then enter the trade a bit early, say at 104.24 ask, with a 10-15 pips target.

Ok but this 5 pips idea if it no break neither limit ( 8pm and 8:55 pm) how long do you wait for a break?. Today the break below ocurred like 90 minutes later, for you is still valid this break?

This idea is only for market open, to really, by 6:00 - 6:30pm, I leave it alone and usually I leave by 6:00pm (Vancouver time) I can have my trade. Today I missed the short as I was trying to get an early entry for the long idea. Anyway, so no trade on these rules for me today.

We have another idea we are working on and that is the 45 pips rule, so the open (5:01pm EST New York) was at 104.04 and so if it goes up over 46 pips, or 104.50, I go long for 12 pips or if it goes down below 103.58, then I want to go short for 12 pips. I haven't really tested this idea, so it is probably best not to try it yet. I need to work out the details more, as I haven't tried it live trading. But Kom75 and fxtime have and do trade this theory

Keep an eye USDJPY, it could break, but I do worry about a false breakout to the upside, so keep it tight if you play it
