I am outlining the US market open range idea again on EURGBP, will trade it this morning until, I believe we have "fix" coming up in the next 15 minutes, so could cause a spike

I wonder if we can apply the idea to GBPUSD?

Same time?

Qi2 Qi2
Yes, I think its worth trying

I think its more active than usual due to month end fx fixing

I've changed my settings and finally got some pips. I will try them on Monday morning (UK time) to see how it goes. Today's price action was very good, yet I had a to many lossing trades

I am trying a 5 pip TP and a 5 pip SL, right now down 2 pips, mine is also trading to often, I think I may have to change the ROC to 2:5:1 or greater
30 September
kom75 kom75
I have 5sl, but tp is bigger at 20 pips

My 5 and 5 pip theory is no good, trades to often, however that may be because we had month end fx fixing and London market close. The GBPUSD ROC was much more pronounced than usual..

Me too, thankful for the USDJPY trades last night and now it is SO quiet, I think I will go make breakfast and start my weekend. I am sure we can learn more next week :)

USDJPY played out as always :) I didn't get to trade, I was visiting family, but I like that it ranged well :)

First, upside was triggered and hit my sl, then downside was succesfull

I am watching GBPUSD this morning, going to see if a similar range set up might exist

I have 9-10am bst timeframe for gbpusd. Today both breakouts were succesfull
03 October
kom75 kom75
Eurgbp on the other side, wasn't even near my tp. I lost 15 pips and 6 out of 9 trades
03 October
Qi2 Qi2
I will also draw the 9/10 BST theory on my chart and see if I can rationalize the system, would be great to have an algo that trades this timeframe :)
03 October
kom75 kom75
Same timeframe for EURUSD :). And 7-9am bst for both pairs, but I don't use it just read in one of fxtime's articles

Suggest 7-9 range and the 9-10 range settings....both these trades can run independently of each other and still earn even if opposing trades ! My algos often run the same functional price break out but are set at different time stamps. eg the 6 line eurgbp algo runs as three different programmes each day as there are three time stamps utilised to maximise ROC and ROCE.

For now I use only 9-10 range because on mt4 i don't have 2hrs candle, but will be easy to change algo to work with 7-9 range. I also use 2 different range for usdjpy for example. I change my settings in 6 lines algo as suggested and is working better, however I need more time to be sure. Also I try 4 different pairs for this algo

I just looked at 6 lines algo and today earned some money, so finger crossed. I use 2 stamp points for this algo, I'll try with third one
07 October
Qi2 Qi2
I can't keep up with all the algos... I'm still working on the 6 line
07 October
kom75 kom75
Qi2, I can send you my settings, maybe will helps. Problem is you have a bit different algo than mine
07 October
Qi2 Qi2
Different settings? on which algo? Hard for me to keep up LOL
07 October
kom75 kom75
6 line algo
08 October
fxtime fxtime
Qi2...I have 30+ algos running and totally agree...sometimes it is hard to keep up especially when one algo may run in three time zones with differing time stamps LOL.
Kom...Interesting you use 4 fx pairings....I have tried that but the only way I could get consistent results was by running it as a matrices so would be interested to hear how you get on with the four.

Next week I'll know if it's worth looking at. Couple question fxtime, if you don't mind. do you ran 6 lines algos 24hrs or from European open to let say US open, and then change your time stamp? I'm always confussed with 9pm closing time, so ref candle for std devs is 9-9pm or 10-10pm bst? Thanks
