Earnings Review: New Oriental passes the test but costs are high
New Oriental Education beat revenue and earnings consensus in its fiscal fourth-quarter earnings release, thanks to impressive student enrolment figures. Earnings preview: hopes of turnaround for New Oriental Education

    China Watcher / Shanghai
    China
Last year was a difficult one for education company New Oriental Education, as confusion over reforms to China’s university entrance exam, and delays to the rollout of the new primary and middle school education platform hurt revenues. However, with these issues seemingly resolved, New Oriental will have very little to hide behind if strong enrolment growth hasn’t returned when it report its fiscal second quarter earnings on January 20.
