I have since 18 years of age been interested in the markets from pretty much any angle. I've studied technical analysis the past 14 years and has been trading on and off during that period, but frequently the past 3 years.

My methods based on analyzing the markets using EWT, trying to spot oppertunities in trend changes, 3rd wave break-outs and so on. Most of all I find EWT very helpfull hinting when one is wrong on a position or an opinion of a trend.

The first and most valuable long term lesson I learned was during the Bull and Bear of the late 90's and early this century. Markets going from boom to bust was a good education in the nature of the market and one conclusion is that pretty much anything is possible and that hope kills an account.

As a complement to my EWT studies I use RSI, MACD, fibonacci and MA to verify my conclusion of what's going on in the markets which is very helpfull trying to warn of trend changes.
