We sometimes get too focused on EZ Debt crisis and the US. Yesterday something big happened in Russia - the joined the WTO after two decades of talks. I, among many, have always been hoping for better times for Russia and often found ourselves disappointed with big the willingness for change and the follow through on rhetoric, but WTO could be a milestone, mind you from a low point, for Russia. Russia could and should play a central role in not only Europe but also the G-10 but we need to see competition and more private initiatives to creates and shape this role. Here is background article from Bloomberg on WTO and Russia resort minister: http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2012-08-01/drought-is-added-to-fedorov-s-tasks-as-russia-joins-wto.html
